One of the most common things that a single who is dating needs to deal with is rejection, both getting some of it and dishing a bit of it out. No matter how you look at it, it can be a sticky situation. It hurts so much to be rejected by someone who we were interested in and even if we weren't it is a blow to the ego. Knowing this as a single, we also don't want to inflict that kind of pain on someone else. But, we cannot change our feelings and if it is not happening for you, then you must be honest with the other person- it will benefit the both of you.

It's not always easy being single

While it can be very exciting and a lot of fun to be out there in the dating scene, this is the part that is a bit of a buzzkill. The fact is that every single person is going to have to let someone else know that they are not interested, in a nutshell they will have to reject a few people along the way. And you too will have to deal with being rejected. Don't string the other person along and put off the inevitable- there are e few signs that you should acknowledge and put a stop to the relationship before it develops further for the other person involved. If you do not feel attracted or feel that there is any chemistry, you should probably cut it off. Also if you do not have many common interests or experiences it may be a indicator that the relationship will not go anywhere.

So, as a single, what's a person to do? We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but we cannot hang on to something that isn't there either. The key to handling this situation is to be honest. Don't lie or make up stories about why you cannot see the other person anymore. You might just see that other person sometime and your lie could blow up in your face, making you look like a real jerk.

Instead, tell the other person that although you did like A,B, and C about them, you do not feel as thought the two of you are a very good fit and that you would like to be friends. Just being honest and not trying to cover up your feelings with lame excuses will make you feel better and in the long run they will too. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being single!
